Strategy Grows Cash Reserves to $3.2 Billion While Keeping Bitcoin Holdings Intact

Strategy has expanded its cash reserves after raising fresh capital through the sale of common stock, while maintaining its position as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor announced on Monday that the company now holds approximately $3.225 billion in cash, with its Bitcoin portfolio unchanged at 843,775 BTC. The additional liquidity comes after Strategy completed another round of share sales under its at-the-market equity program.

According to a regulatory filing, the company sold more than 2.7 million MSTR shares, generating approximately $263.5 million in proceeds. After accounting for prior balances and capital movements, Strategy's cash reserves increased by roughly $225 million over the past week.

The update was welcomed by investors, with Strategy shares climbing around 1.2% in pre-market trading to approximately $96. Bitcoin also posted modest gains over the weekend, trading near $64,700.

The move reflects Strategy's ongoing effort to strengthen its balance sheet following a period of market volatility that placed greater attention on its financing strategy. The company has increasingly relied on a mix of equity offerings and preferred stock to fund operations and support shareholder obligations, making a larger cash cushion a priority.

Earlier this month, Strategy surprised the market by selling roughly $216 million worth of Bitcoin, marking one of the few occasions the company reduced its digital asset holdings after years of aggressive accumulation. The sale followed the launch of a broader Bitcoin monetization strategy, which authorizes the company to sell up to $1.25 billion worth of BTC to build cash reserves and help fund dividend payments.

Despite that rare sale, Strategy's Bitcoin holdings have remained unchanged over the past week. With Bitcoin trading around $64,700, the company's treasury is now valued at nearly $55 billion, reinforcing its dominant position among publicly traded companies with Bitcoin on their balance sheets.

Strategy continues to hold a significant lead over every other corporate Bitcoin investor, with its long-term commitment to the cryptocurrency remaining a defining part of its financial strategy, even as it balances liquidity needs with shareholder commitments.
