Pi Network Plans EU Push as New CiDi Games Deal Seeks to Boost Pi Coin Utility

Pi Network is accelerating its Web3 gaming strategy through a newly announced partnership with CiDi Games, a move designed to strengthen Pi Coin’s real-world use cases as the project prepares for its first regulated trading launch in the European Union.
Unveiled on November 26, 2025, the collaboration positions CiDi Games as a central development partner within the Pi ecosystem. Pi Network said the alliance is aimed at scaling its gaming footprint, expanding daily-use scenarios, and enabling its tens of millions of Pioneers to transact with Pi across a wider range of digital experiences.
The initiative blends Pi’s massive global user base with CiDi’s game development capabilities, setting the stage for Pi to play a foundational role in Web3 gaming. CiDi is developing several Pi-powered titles, including a lightweight HTML5 platform slated for Q1 2026 testing. It is also building APIs and infrastructure to make Pi integration easier for outside game studios—an approach similar to established blockchain gaming frameworks.
Pi Network Ventures has even taken an equity stake in CiDi, signaling confidence despite the developer’s minimal public footprint. CiDi’s sparse online presence has raised transparency questions, but Pi maintains that gaming is a “natural fit” given its interactive, community-driven mining culture. Observers note that casual gaming often boosts transaction flow in emerging blockchain networks, making the strategy a practical bet.
This GameFi expansion comes as Pi prepares to enter Europe’s regulated markets. The project’s MiCA-compliant white paper, published in October, outlines EU-level protections, security standards, and consumer safeguards. It also reiterates that Pi was earned through mobile mining rather than an ICO. The update pushed Pi’s price up 10% and reinforced its transition from a closed mobile-mining ecosystem into a fully regulated digital asset. The asset has already gained institutional traction through the Valour Pi ETP listed in Sweden.
Exchange Holdings Surge as Unlock Schedule Adds Market Pressure
Despite the ecosystem growth, Pi faces a mounting supply challenge. Exchange balances reached 430.8 million PI as of November 27, worth roughly $109 million at current prices. This rise aligns with Pi’s aggressive token unlocks:
-
145 million Pi unlocked in November
-
173 million Pi set for release in December — the largest monthly unlock until late 2027
Meanwhile, daily trading volume sits near $30 million, insufficient to meaningfully absorb the new supply.
Notably, Pi Core Team wallets—holding more than 71 billion tokens—have remained inactive, suggesting internal teams are not contributing to sell pressure. But with only an estimated 3 billion Pi actually circulating, the rapid buildup of exchange balances creates ongoing downward pressure on price.
Whether the GameFi rollout, new EU trading corridors, and growing developer activity can soak up the accelerating liquidity remains unclear. For now, Pi Network is expanding its ecosystem at the same time market forces threaten to outpace it—setting the stage for a pivotal test of Pi’s next chapter.
