SharpLink’s $3B Ethereum Treasury Powers Record Q3 Profits and DeFi Expansion

SharpLink Gaming has transformed from a niche gaming company into one of the most Ethereum-exposed public entities in the world, reporting Q3 2025 revenue of $10.8 million — a staggering 1,100% year-over-year increase — fueled by its aggressive on-chain treasury strategy.

The Minneapolis-based firm posted net income of $104.3 million for the quarter ending September 30, 2025, a dramatic turnaround from a $885,000 loss the previous year. The company’s balance sheet reflected nearly $3 billion in digital assets, primarily Ethereum, which rose from 817,747 ETH on September 30 to 861,251 ETH by November 9.

Ethereum Treasury Strategy Drives Record Returns

SharpLink’s pivot toward Ethereum has redefined its financial model. The company closed the quarter with $11.1 million in cash and $26.7 million in USDC, alongside its massive ETH holdings — most of which are now actively staked for yield.

Its treasury strategy has not only stabilized income but created investor demand for ETH-linked equity exposure. During the quarter, SharpLink repurchased 1.94 million shares worth $31.6 million under its $1.5 billion stock buyback plan, and later completed a $76.5 million direct stock offering at a 12% market premium, signaling strong institutional interest.

Expanding DeFi Presence on Linea

Central to SharpLink’s Ethereum thesis is its $200 million commitment to deploy ETH on Consensys’ Linea network, a zkEVM Layer 2 solution known for its speed and compatibility with Ethereum mainnet.

Through partnerships with ether.fi and EigenCloud, SharpLink is integrating advanced staking and restaking strategies via EigenLayer’s Actively Validated Services (AVS) — a structure that generates layered yield streams on top of traditional staking rewards. Custody and compliance are managed by Anchorage Digital, ensuring security and transparency.

This move places SharpLink at the forefront of a growing 2025 corporate trend: public companies integrating DeFi protocols for treasury yield enhancement. Its Linea deployment and zkEVM involvement position the company alongside Ethereum’s next generation of scaling solutions.

Adding to its blockchain footprint, SharpLink recently introduced tokenized SBET equity on Ethereum in collaboration with Superstate, giving shareholders a direct on-chain engagement avenue and extending the company’s digital presence.

Strengthened Leadership and Institutional Focus

SharpLink also bolstered its leadership team with key hires from across the crypto and finance sectors. Matthew Sheffield (formerly of FalconX) joins as Chief Investment Officer, Mandy Campbell (Bain Capital Crypto) as Chief Marketing Officer, and Michael Camarda (JPMorgan and Consensys) as Chief Data Officer.

These additions reinforce SharpLink’s strategic pivot toward blockchain-native asset management and institutional DeFi participation.

Looking Ahead

The company will host its Q3 2025 earnings call on November 13 at 8:30 a.m. ET, where analysts are expected to probe its DeFi-driven yield strategy, regulatory exposure, and future ETH deployment plans.

As public corporations cautiously explore crypto treasury diversification, SharpLink’s performance positions it as a case study in how Ethereum-based strategies can reshape corporate finance — merging traditional earnings with decentralized returns.
