U.S. Bitcoin and Ether ETFs See $2.6B Weekly Inflow as Crypto Rally Accelerates

U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds had their biggest week of 2026, pulling in a combined $2.6 billion as investors stepped up exposure during a sharp cryptocurrency market rally.
Bitcoin ETFs accounted for roughly $1.9 billion of the total, while Ether ETFs attracted another $697.2 million, according to data from SoSoValue. The figures marked the strongest weekly inflows for both ETF groups this year.
The surge also represented a major turnaround from the previous week, when the two categories recorded a combined $392 million in outflows. The week-over-week shift was close to $3 billion and more than doubled the $1.1 billion combined inflow recorded during the week ending Aug. 7.
Bitcoin ETFs Lead the Surge
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded their strongest weekly inflows since October 2025. The latest $1.9 billion haul compares with approximately $2.7 billion collected during the week ending Oct. 10 last year.
Since launching, U.S. Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated about $53.7 billion in net inflows.
Trading activity also jumped sharply. Weekly volume reached $22.1 billion, up from $6.9 billion the previous week, representing an increase of more than 219%.
Combined assets under management climbed to approximately $96.1 billion from $76.6 billion. The increase reflected both fresh investor deposits and the rise in Bitcoin's market price.
A large portion of the buying arrived as cryptocurrencies accelerated higher in the middle of the week. Bitcoin ETFs attracted $517.2 million on Wednesday, followed by another $606.3 million on Thursday.
BlackRock's IBIT was a major contributor on Thursday, bringing in approximately $503 million on its own.
Ether ETFs Join the Rally
Ether ETFs also experienced a dramatic rebound.
The products collected $697.2 million during the week, their best performance since early October 2025. During the previous comparable week, Ether ETFs had attracted nearly $1.3 billion.
The latest result was particularly notable because the funds had posted a small $2.3 million outflow during the prior week. Their cumulative net inflows since launch have now reached approximately $12.2 billion.
Trading volume climbed to $6.9 billion from $1.9 billion, an increase of more than 259%. Combined assets rose to $14.3 billion from $10.5 billion.
The increase in Ether prices also helped lift the value of ETF assets. Total assets now sit roughly $2.1 billion above cumulative net inflows, reversing a situation from two weeks earlier when assets were about $711 million below cumulative inflows.
Crypto Rally Drives Institutional Demand
The ETF surge came as the broader crypto market posted one of its strongest weekly performances in years.
Bitcoin briefly moved above $79,000 on Friday during its biggest weekly advance in roughly two years. Bitcoin and Ether both gained between 24% and 28% over the week, helping boost the value of assets held by the funds.
By Saturday afternoon, Bitcoin was trading near $77,200, while Ether was around $2,423.
Despite the strong recovery, the latest inflows have not completely erased the funds' 2026 losses. Bitcoin ETFs remain roughly $2.9 billion in net outflow territory for the year, while Ether ETFs have recorded approximately $191.8 million in net outflows.
Still, the latest wave of buying cut the combined year-to-date deficit from about $5.7 billion to $3.1 billion.
The figures point to a sharp return of investor demand for regulated crypto investment products, with Bitcoin and Ether ETFs both benefiting from the renewed momentum across digital assets.
