Bitmain Sets Sights on U.S. Manufacturing With 2026 Crypto Rig Factory Launch

Bitmain, the world’s top producer of cryptocurrency mining equipment, is making a significant move into U.S. manufacturing with plans to establish its first production facility stateside by early 2026. The initiative, which may be based in either Texas or Florida, reflects a strategic alignment with the U.S. government’s push to onshore key industries, including energy, semiconductors—and now crypto infrastructure.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Bitmain’s global business head Irene Gao said the firm intends to launch a new headquarters and production line in the U.S. by the end of Q3 this year, with full-scale manufacturing operations expected by the end of next year. Initial hiring will include around 250 American workers for manufacturing and maintenance roles.

While U.S. labor costs are higher than in Bitmain’s traditional manufacturing bases, Gao emphasized that the potential to sidestep tariff risks and benefit from domestic supply chains makes the plan economically viable.

Bitmain’s entry into the U.S. comes as crypto mining gains recognition as a strategic component of national infrastructure, alongside clean energy and microchips.
