Berachain Rebounds 150% as Business-Focused Strategy Sparks Fresh Optimism

Berachain’s native token, BERA, staged a dramatic comeback on February 11, surging more than 150% in its strongest single-day performance in months. The explosive move follows a prolonged slump that saw the token lose over 90% from its peak amid shrinking total value locked (TVL), token unlock fears, and wavering investor confidence throughout 2025.
The sharp turnaround appears tied to a strategic reset.
Earlier this year, the Berachain Foundation introduced a new initiative dubbed “Bera Builds Businesses,” signaling a departure from its previous incentive-heavy growth model. Rather than relying on aggressive token rewards to drive adoption, the network now plans to support three to five revenue-generating applications designed to create consistent, organic demand for BERA.
The shift toward cash-flow-producing projects has reshaped the narrative around the ecosystem. For much of the past year, critics questioned whether Berachain’s earlier strategy—dependent on liquidity incentives—could withstand a sustained market downturn. As TVL dropped and selling pressure mounted, confidence eroded.
February, however, brought relief on multiple fronts.
A key uncertainty tied to Brevan Howard’s Nova Digital fund expired on February 6, 2026. The clause reportedly allowed for a $25 million refund if certain performance benchmarks were not met. With the deadline passing and no refund triggered, traders interpreted the development as the removal of a significant structural risk.
Adding to the momentum, a sizable token unlock event concluded without sparking the wave of selling many had feared. The absence of aggressive distribution helped fuel what market participants described as a relief rally.
Derivatives data reinforced the bullish move. Trading volumes climbed sharply, while open interest expanded alongside price gains—often a sign of renewed speculative participation. Liquidation maps showed clusters of short positions above key resistance levels, suggesting that forced short covering likely intensified the upward surge.
Despite the breakout, challenges remain. Token distribution pressures have not fully disappeared, and Berachain must now demonstrate that its business-first approach can translate into durable network demand.
For now, though, the market appears to be rewarding transparency, strategic recalibration, and the clearing of major overhangs after months of uncertainty.
