Trump-Linked World Liberty Financial Secures $25M Token Sale to Hut 8 in Major Institutional Endorsement

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), the Trump family–connected crypto firm, has struck a major deal with publicly listed Bitcoin mining company Hut 8, selling part of its locked token holdings for approximately $25 million.
In an Oct. 4 statement, WLFI confirmed that the tokens were sold directly from its treasury to serve as part of Hut 8’s long-term crypto reserve strategy. Blockchain analytics platform Arkham Intelligence estimates the sale involved around 100 million WLFI tokens, priced at $0.25 each — a 25% premium over the market rate of $0.20.
The above-market purchase was interpreted by analysts as a strong show of confidence in WLFI’s management and token fundamentals. “This kind of institutional premium signals deep trust in WLFI’s strategic direction,” noted one market watcher.
WLFI emphasized that Hut 8 will hold the tokens as a reserve asset, dismissing fears of short-term liquidation. The company described the transaction as part of a broader partnership aimed at expanding institutional participation in the WLFI ecosystem.
This isn’t Hut 8’s first collaboration tied to the Trump-affiliated venture. The miner is also working with Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump on a new U.S.-based Bitcoin mining operation, dubbed American Bitcoin, which seeks to boost domestic crypto infrastructure.
The WLFI–Hut 8 deal builds on a wave of institutional activity surrounding the project. Back in August, ALT 5 Sigma (formerly JanOne) revealed plans to raise $1.5 billion to bolster WLFI’s treasury holdings — further cementing its reputation as a growing institutional play in the digital asset space.
Beyond token sales, WLFI is working to expand its ecosystem through real-world asset tokenization and payment integrations. The firm recently announced plans to tokenize real estate and commodities, alongside launching a debit card and retail payment app compatible with Apple Pay.
These developments are designed to link WLFI’s USD1 stablecoin to everyday spending, allowing users to move fluidly between digital and traditional finance — a step that could transform the project from a political crypto brand into a mainstream financial ecosystem.
