Strategy Adds 525 BTC in $60M Move, Keeps $8M Cash Cushion

Tysons, Virginia-based Strategy—formerly known as MicroStrategy—has notched its lightest Bitcoin addition in a month, revealing on Monday that it purchased 525 BTC for roughly $60 million. The acquisition was financed entirely through proceeds from preferred share offerings.

This latest buy lifts the firm’s total Bitcoin stash to about 639,000 BTC, now valued near $73 billion. While the company is known for issuing common stock to expand its crypto reserves, recent moves signal a more flexible funding strategy.

Just last month, Strategy executed two consecutive Bitcoin purchases without relying on common share sales, acquiring 585 BTC for $67 million. Interestingly, despite raising approximately $68.2 million from its STRF, STRC, and STRD offerings last week, Strategy allocated only $60.2 million toward Bitcoin, leaving roughly $8 million in unspent cash.

Market reaction was mild: Strategy shares slipped 2% to $325 on Monday, while Bitcoin hovered around $115,000, down 0.4% over the past 24 hours.
