Strategy Adds $427M in Bitcoin as Holdings Climb Past 580K BTC

Bitcoin powerhouse Strategy—formerly known as MicroStrategy—has once again expanded its crypto war chest, acquiring an additional 4,020 BTC valued at approximately $427.1 million. The purchase, made at an average price of $106,237 per coin, reinforces the firm’s dominant position as the world’s leading corporate Bitcoin holder.
Michael Saylor, the firm’s co-founder and former CEO, confirmed the massive acquisition via X (formerly Twitter) on May 26, highlighting not only the purchase but also the firm’s impressive Year-to-Date Bitcoin yield of 16.8%.
With this latest acquisition, Strategy now holds a staggering 580,250 BTC, representing nearly 2.9% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply. The total value of the company’s Bitcoin treasury has ballooned to $40.61 billion, further amplifying its influence over market sentiment and positioning it as a key player in the global crypto landscape.
Bitcoin itself has been on a bullish tear in recent weeks. The flagship digital asset recently surged past the $100,000 milestone and is currently trading at approximately $110,002.24, with a 24-hour gain of 2.37%. As Bitcoin approaches uncharted price territory, the spotlight remains on Strategy to see if it will continue stacking sats—or take a strategic pause.
With the firm’s aggressive accumulation strategy and the market heating up, all eyes are on how Strategy will shape the next phase of Bitcoin’s institutional adoption.
