Trump-Linked WLFI Surges as Geopolitics Spark Profits—and Selling Pressure

World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has extended the rally that began in mid-December 2025, adding fresh gains over the past week as geopolitical shockwaves injected new volatility into the token.

Price action intensified after former U.S. President Donald Trump made a dramatic move against Venezuela, culminating in the capture of Nicolás Maduro. The headline-driven development sparked a sharp reaction in WLFI, sending prices toward recent highs and rapidly improving holder profitability.

On-chain metrics show the percentage of WLFI supply in profit jumped from around 25% to roughly 40% within 24 hours of the news. That surge lifted overall profitability to its highest level in four months, suggesting gains were spread across both small and large wallets rather than concentrated among a few holders.

The rebound has been particularly meaningful for early participants who accumulated WLFI during its launch phase and weathered the token’s first major downturn. After months underwater, many of those positions have finally returned to profit.

However, rising profitability has also begun to change holder behavior. Exchange net position data has turned positive for the first time in nearly three months, signaling that WLFI is flowing back onto exchanges. Historically, this pattern points to distribution rather than fresh accumulation, as investors look to lock in gains after prolonged drawdowns.

This willingness to sell into strength could limit further upside. As more tokens become available on exchanges, new demand may struggle to absorb the added supply.

At the time of writing, WLFI trades near $0.172, rebounding from $0.143 earlier in the week and posting an 11% gain over the past 24 hours. The price is now testing the upper boundary of an ascending broadening wedge, a formation that reflects expanding volatility but offers little directional clarity.

With resistance overhead, a clean breakout appears uncertain. Continued profit-taking could pull WLFI back toward the lower trend line, with $0.154 emerging as the next key support level. For bulls to regain control, the token would need to hold $0.172 as a firm base, supported by fading sell pressure and renewed buying interest.

If that shift materializes, WLFI could extend higher toward $0.182, overturning the current bearish-neutral outlook. Until then, the rally may remain vulnerable to fast exits from newly profitable holders.
