Bitcoin Eyes $100K Plans After Breaking $80K Alongside Asia Market Surge

Bitcoin extended its upward momentum early Monday, reclaiming the $80,000 level as global risk appetite strengthened alongside a breakout in Asian stock markets.
The leading cryptocurrency jumped roughly 2.7% within a short window, climbing from around $78,400 to above $80,000 in just over an hour during early Asian trading hours. The move marked Bitcoin’s highest level since late January, briefly peaking above $80,500 before stabilizing.
The rally unfolded in tandem with a strong performance in regional equities. The MSCI AC Asia Index surged to a fresh all-time high, signaling renewed investor confidence following weekend developments. Historically, gains in Asian markets at the start of the week tend to reflect improving sentiment, though they don’t always guarantee similar momentum in U.S. stocks.
Altcoins followed Bitcoin’s lead, with Ether, XRP, and BNB posting moderate gains over the past 24 hours, reinforcing a broader market recovery across digital assets.
Momentum has also been building on the regulatory front in Washington. Lawmakers and industry participants are reportedly moving closer to agreement on key stablecoin provisions under the CLARITY Act, with further progress expected in the coming weeks. This has added to optimism that clearer rules could unlock additional institutional participation.
Institutional demand is already showing resilience. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States have recorded inflows in most recent trading sessions, including a standout day late last week that saw hundreds of millions of dollars enter the market—one of the strongest single-day performances in recent weeks.
Bitcoin’s return above $80,000 represents a significant rebound of nearly 30% from its early February low near $62,000. The recovery has reignited discussions about a potential move toward six figures, with some market participants suggesting that continued price strength itself could drive the next wave of interest.
Meanwhile, attention is also turning toward potential policy developments tied to a proposed U.S. Bitcoin reserve. Officials have hinted that a major update could arrive in the near term, adding another possible catalyst to an already strengthening market backdrop.
