Elon Musk’s New Political Party to Back Bitcoin, Escalating Feud With Trump

Elon Musk has ignited fresh political and financial waves with the announcement that his newly formed America Party will adopt Bitcoin as part of its foundational vision. The revelation came via a brief post on X, where Musk confirmed the party’s crypto-aligned stance in response to a user’s question about Bitcoin.

Declaring fiat currency “hopeless,” Musk doubled down on his support for the world’s largest cryptocurrency—further energizing a crypto community already familiar with his influence. Musk’s companies, Tesla and SpaceX, currently hold over 19,700 BTC combined, placing them among the top institutional holders globally.

The Political Pivot

Musk's political move comes as tensions with former President Donald Trump continue to escalate. What began as a disagreement over the so-called “big beautiful bill” in early June has now evolved into a full-scale ideological clash. Trump recently dismissed Musk’s new party as “ridiculous” and called the billionaire a “train wreck,” warning that third-party efforts only bring “disruption and chaos.”

But Musk appears unfazed. Rather than gunning straight for the White House, sources close to the tech magnate say the America Party could focus on House and Senate seats, aiming to build leverage within Congress rather than challenge the presidency directly.

“He doesn’t need traditional infrastructure,” noted IBC Group founder Mario Nawfal. “He has polling reach on X, access to massive fundraising, and the ability to organize support digitally at scale. This could be the most serious third-party movement in decades.”

A New Political-Crypto Nexus?

Musk’s plans may represent the first major attempt to intertwine digital currency with political power in the United States. Bitcoin’s inclusion in a party platform marks a shift from crypto as a niche financial asset to a core political issue.

The America Party’s embrace of Bitcoin may also inspire others. With U.S. regulatory debates heating up, Musk’s position could force mainstream parties to respond—or risk losing ground to a movement that blends technology, populism, and decentralization.

Whether the party succeeds in gaining traction remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: Musk has set the stage for a crypto-infused political realignment, with Bitcoin at the heart of his vision for America’s future.
