Gemini Launches Solana Credit Card With Auto-Staking Rewards Following IPO Success

Publicly listed crypto exchange Gemini has expanded its credit card lineup with the debut of the Solana Card, introducing an innovative auto-staking feature that lets users automatically stake earned SOL rewards for added returns.
The new product, revealed Monday, mirrors Gemini’s existing crypto reward cards for Bitcoin and XRP—offering up to 4% back on purchases—but introduces a first-of-its-kind staking option. Users who opt into the feature can earn up to 6.77% annual yield (APY) on staked SOL, with the flexibility to unstake at any time.
“Auto-staking is the primary enhancement we’re rolling out with this launch,” a Gemini representative explained. “It gives the Solana community a way to demonstrate loyalty and grow their holdings seamlessly through everyday spending.”
The Gemini Solana Card also includes familiar category-based rewards:
-
4% back on gas, EV charging, and rideshare
-
3% back on dining
-
2% back on groceries
-
1% back on all other purchases
The company said the choice to launch a Solana-themed card reflects the blockchain’s momentum and developer activity, citing that Solana-based rewards have been among the platform’s top-performing crypto assets. Gemini shared that users who earned and held SOL since 2021 saw an average 300% appreciation—tracking Solana’s rise from under $10 to nearly $300 earlier this year.
The product launch follows Gemini’s successful IPO, which raised over $425 million by pricing shares at $28—above forecasts. Despite recent market pressure pushing shares down about 20% over the past month, the firm continues to expand its consumer offerings as part of a broader push to blend crypto finance with traditional payment tools.
With the Solana Card, Gemini aims to reinforce that bridge—turning every purchase into an opportunity for passive staking and long-term crypto growth.
