Michael Saylor’s Strategy Ramps Up Bitcoin Holdings to 636,505 BTC Despite Slowing August Pace

Michael Saylor’s Strategy has deepened its Bitcoin exposure with a fresh $449 million purchase made between August 25 and September 1, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing released Tuesday. The acquisition of 4,048 BTC at an average price of $110,981 per coin pushed the company’s total stash to 636,505 BTC.
This brings the firm’s cumulative investment to roughly $46.95 billion, locked in at an average purchase price of $73,765 per Bitcoin. At current market levels near $109,400, Strategy’s holdings are valued at over $69.7 billion, cementing its position as the world’s largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder.
August marked a quieter month for accumulation compared to July’s aggressive buying spree. Strategy added 7,714 BTC across four separate purchases—3,081 BTC announced last week, a 430 BTC buy, and another 155 BTC in early August—well below the 31,466 BTC it secured in the previous month.
The latest acquisitions were funded through capital raised from multiple equity issuance programs, including the STRF ATM, STRK ATM, STRD ATM, and MSTR ATM. Despite the slowdown in purchases, Saylor’s Bitcoin-first strategy continues to reinforce his conviction that Bitcoin remains the ultimate long-term store of value.
