Smaller Bitcoin Treasury Firms Scoop Up $46M in BTC as Major Buyers Slow Down

As Bitcoin briefly dipped below the $80,000 mark, a wave of smaller corporate treasury firms stepped in to accumulate more BTC, collectively purchasing around 602.6 Bitcoin worth nearly $46 million.

The buying activity came during a quieter week for larger Bitcoin treasury players, with market heavyweight Strategy notably pausing its regular accumulation streak. In contrast, smaller publicly traded firms appeared eager to capitalize on lower prices.

Among the biggest buyers was Strive, which added 381.6 BTC at an average price of $79,348 per coin. Consumer food company DDC Enterprise Limited followed with a 200 BTC purchase at roughly $79,496 per Bitcoin.

Elsewhere, UK-based web design firm The Smarter Web Company acquired 19 BTC at an average cost of $77,687, while AI infrastructure firm Hyperscale Data disclosed the purchase of 2 BTC from the open market during Sunday’s trading session, when Bitcoin closed near $76,981.

The renewed activity from smaller treasury companies suggests that institutional appetite for Bitcoin remains intact despite ongoing market weakness and declining ETF flows. Over the six trading days leading into Friday, spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $1.54 billion in net outflows, according to market data.

Still, analysts at Santiment argued that the outflows may not accurately reflect broader institutional sentiment, describing them as a possible “counter-indicator” tied more closely to retail investor behavior.

The timing of these purchases is notable, as average acquisition prices often serve as a key benchmark for evaluating a company’s long-term conviction and unrealized profit position in Bitcoin holdings.

The latest accumulation trend also follows a massive buy from Strategy just one week earlier, when the firm revealed it had acquired 24,869 BTC for approximately $2.01 billion at an average price of $80,985 per Bitcoin — its third-largest Bitcoin purchase of 2026.

According to current industry estimates, roughly 198 public companies now collectively hold around 1.24 million BTC, representing close to 5.9% of Bitcoin’s total supply.
