Michael Saylor’s Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Buying Spree with $27.2M Purchase Amid Market Chaos

Michael Saylor’s Strategy Inc. has resumed its aggressive Bitcoin acquisition strategy, revealing its first purchase in October after pausing during the previous week’s turbulence. The world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder added 220 BTC worth $27.2 million, signaling renewed confidence despite intense market swings.

According to Saylor’s announcement on X (formerly Twitter) early Monday, the purchase was executed at an average price of $123,561 per Bitcoin. This comes as the leading cryptocurrency recently set a new all-time high above $126,200 on Oct. 6, before plunging to $107,000 in Friday’s flash crash.

With this addition, Strategy now holds 640,250 BTC, acquired for a total of $47.38 billion at an average price of $74,000 per coin. The latest buy underscores Saylor’s long-term conviction in Bitcoin’s dominance, even as short-term volatility shakes the broader market.

Amid Friday’s steep decline — largely tied to renewed tariff threats from former U.S. President Donald Trump — Saylor posted a simple message to X: “No tariffs on Bitcoin.” The remark quickly gained traction as a statement of Bitcoin’s independence from political and economic pressures.

Saylor also revealed that Strategy’s BTC Yield, representing the percentage change in the ratio of its Bitcoin holdings to diluted shares, has climbed to 25.9% year-to-date following the purchase.

The move follows a smaller 196 BTC acquisition in late September, marking a return to active accumulation after a brief pause in early October. With Bitcoin’s price whipsawing through record highs and flash crashes, Saylor’s firm continues to double down on its thesis: Bitcoin remains the ultimate store of value — regardless of short-term noise.
