Wanchain (WAN) was founded by Jack Lu in June 2016 as an altcoin and distributed financial infrastructure as an enabling eco system which offers users platform for smart contracts across many cryptocurrency assets which can connect various blockchain projects. Wanchain is based on Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and consensus and incentive mechanisms for cross-chain transactions.

Wanchain raised 74,322 ETHs in an ICO crowd sale and its Silver-whitelist (39,251 ETH) was completed within 15 minutes. Wanchain’s target application areas are the establishment of a decentralised exchange, the development asset management tools as well as an ICO platform. Wanchain is currently undertaking a 2.0 alpha testnet with 50 community developers before the wider community beta testing.

Thus far, Wanchain have hit their roadmap targets – the imminent release of Wanchain 2.0 provides integration with Ethereum and a multi-coin wallet is targeted by end June 2018, with Wanchain 3.0 providing Bitcoin integration by end December 2018. Wanchain 4.0, targeted for end December 2019 will provide integration with private chains.
