Melonport (MLN) is an ERC-20 based token (based on ETH). Melonport was launched by co-founders Mona El Isa (CEO) and Reto Trinkler (Chairman) in February 2017. At that time Melonport issued 599,400 MLN tokens via an ICO smart-contract, raising a total of CHF 2.5 million in under 10 minutes in exchange for the tokens. Melonport will issue the remaining 500,600 MLN via an Olympiad style contests to incentivise the community with discounted $MLN tokens utilising blockchain-based asset management competitions for user testing and adoption.

Melonport is currently in phase 3 of development of a digital asset management platform, with a goal to deploy not only a decentralized protocol but also autonomous and self-sustainable asset management system.

Melonport roadmap is to develop a complete set of risk management modules in line with their vision of “risk engineering” anticipating the risk ahead of it happening and handling it in the code of the smart contract (eg being proactive rather than being reactive when facing specific risks). Melonport will use rules which could then be coded into smart contracts.
